I've finally completed the landscaping work on the house that has taken a few months. Most of the work took place over the last few weeks while the weather held. I'm particularly glad that I finished before the typhoon reached us.
First, I completely destroyed the backyard, adding in high fences, pathways, arches, and a koi pond. It reminds me a lot of my grandfather's home in Yokohama after he retired.

Then, I added in a fire pit with surround seating. Not my idea.

I'm still waiting on strong enough supports to be anchored into the wooden awning for something else. It'll come when it does. I'm not concerned. There are other, more important things to take care of now.
(ooc: strikes deleted // pretend that the white of the fire pit/seating area matches the rest of the theme of the traditional Japanese home, okay? thanks)
